Target Audience:

This rounds presentation is designed for clinicians (of any discipline) providing eating disorder care or support who wish to explore more about weight science fundamentals and how these concepts may apply to service delivery.

Learning Objectives:

  • To review the literature regarding weight and health and weight-loss for health improvement through a critical lens
  • To consider the efficacy and risk of harm associated with weight loss for health improvement
  • To explore how clinicians can adherently deliver Eating Disorder treatments while being grounded in weight science and in the context of a weight-biased world
  • To consider how treatment planning can be informed by weight-science and to hear “real-life” examples of how these concepts may be delivered to clients in a clinical context
