Disordered eating in Ontario: Perspectives from the community

What is EDO-P?

Ontario is adding a new layer of service delivery in evidence-based prevention. Prevention teams will be located in each of the Ontario Health’s six regions.

Teams will cover the entire region and be staffed by prevention service providers carrying out:

  1. Direct prevention services, and
  2. Support and coaching to public health, schools, post-secondary institutions, and other agencies involved with youth.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

EDO P is committed to applying new and emerging evidence to the existing suite of EDO-P interventions including ways to promote identity-affirming and culturally responsive approaches to prevention

EDO-P Service Delivery

EDO-P aims to scale up evidence-informed, implementation-sensitive, and identity-affirming prevention and early intervention strategies to help reduce disordered eating and its precursors. Each Ontario Health Region will have a Host Organization hiring Eating Disorder Prevention Specialists locally, all supported by a provincial ‘backbone’ at EDO.
